Red Velvet Cake

Recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Beat 1/2 cup butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar, then add 2 eggs and 2 tbsp red food coloring.
  3. Mix 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, and 1 tsp salt, then alternate adding the dry ingredients and 1 cup buttermilk to the butter mixture.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, cool, and frost with cream cheese frosting.
